Gunns Ltd sues again
Tasmanian based logging company Gunns Ltd has issued a law suit on thirteen forest defenders claiming damages for trespass, and seeking an injunction that will prevent the defendants from entering its property and land holdings.
New Red Gum Parks a historic decision for Victoria
Environment groups today applauded the Brumby Government’s announcement to create a chain of new River Red Gum National Parks along the Murray, Goulburn and Ovens rivers in northern Victoria. Groups described the commitment as one of the most significant in Victoria’s history.

The North-South pipeline: Melbourne – it’s time to take a stand!
This short-sighted project will pump 75 billion litres of water a year from the Goulburn River, the major Victorian tributary of the Murray, to supply Melbourne. More than 70 people joined our community action on sunday December 14, on the pipeline construction site in Toolangi forest.

the sustainable supermarket!
Friends of the Earth Australia is currently developing a campaign aimed at delivering a major change in the way food and groceries in Australia are sold. The campaign will include the development of a shopping guide to help people make informed and ethical choices and in late summer 2009, FoE will pilot our first ‘sustainable supermarket’ - a weekend Eco-Market that will provide at least 70% of the goods you can find in a traditional supermarket.
